Yoga at Sunrise with lululemon

Bird Photography Exhibition

The Bird Photography Exhibition is a result of a competition held by Al Noor Island to submit the most impressive photos of birds on the island, reinforcing its reputation as a natural haven for wildlife and one of the Arab world’s most unique sanctuaries for birds and butterflies.

The images represent some of the UAE’s 450 recorded native and migrant bird species, 10% of which are present at Al Noor Island, where the serene atmosphere with tall green canopies gives birds nesting and roosting opportunities.

The pioneering gallery features a total of 33 photographs which will be displayed for two months from 5th May 2018.

Jazz on The Island

Experience all Spring Beat has to offer! the Jazz on the Island is a two days’ live music event centered around Jazz that is held on third weekend of April to be an annual event on the Island. The two days’ jazz festival will have two-night concert performances by Hindi Zahra who was performing over 400 live shows in five continents before returning to her homeland, Morocco, in 2015, where she released Homeland, which summarizes her career, declared as “North-African Patti Smith,” Hindi Zahra’s mesmerizing elements of music feature a mix of African and Western compositions, demonstrating her versatile talents, such as lyric writing, music playing, singing and painting. Zahra and her band will perform live songs from her albums in English, French and Amazigh, featuring a vibrant mix of jazz, rock and funky music, during her appearance in a live show at the Jazz at the Island Festival in Sharjah on the 20th of April, 2018. For the second day Salha and the Million Dollar Band will perform with her unique and captivating style, is rightly regarded as one of the most popular entertainers in the region. She is complimented by her ‘Million Dollar Band,’ a collection of the very finest international musicians. Together they have travelled the globe, from Cannes to Kenya, Mallorca to Malaysia; entertaining royalty, celebrities and fans; in grand ballrooms and local music venues; playing intimate jazz gigs and rock ‘n’ roll spectacles! Salha and the Million Dollar Band will be staged at Al Noor Island on the 21st of April to entertain music fans during the Jazz at the Island Festival.

Tales on the Island

The International Storytelling Festival

Al Noor Island is hosting The International Storytelling Festival under the theme “Tales on the Island”, the event will bring together the best storytellers from across the world to share their enchanting stories with gathered audience. The art of telling stories is one that can transport the listener into a wistful wonderland, capturing the imagination and bringing out a whole range of emotions as the journey goes on. This festival will be a truly memorable occasion – no books, no texts learned off by heart, no screens and no microphones just a voyage of discovery through different cultures and tales as well as a realization of the ancient pleasure of just sitting in front of somebody who tells wonderful stories, creating magic only with the power of words…

Tales on the Island is to be held every Friday and Saturday from 23 February – 17 March 2018, in addition to the School program from Sunday to Thursday. The festival will feature performances for all ages, music art, theater and fun for the whole family!
